I am fortunate to have graduated in Architecture from the School of Architecture & Planning Chennai, in 1982 for the professional competency fostered by the esteemed institution. Subsequently the brief work experience with the renowned Ar. Laurie baker, at Trivandrum, equipped me with knowledge about the use of locally available materials & cost effective building technologies. My post-graduation in architecture, at IIT, Kharagpur, widened my horizon as an architect & made me to start Private practice, in the city of Madurai in the year 1986. After completing 200 + projects in a span of 6 years, I took up the teaching carrier in 1992, as Assistant professor. Later on I joined SRM University & headed the architecture school in 2003. Subsequently I got promoted as the Dean of Architecture & worked in SRM till 2019.
Recently I had relocated to Coimbatore and joined the esteemed Nehru college of Architecture as Principal. Nehru college of Architecture is committed to the very important task of producing architecture and architects worthy of the future. Future has always preoccupied the minds of architects & inspired them to push the boundaries of architectural design to create sustainable new worlds. Students are encouraged to participate in Design competitions & also to work as intern in reputed architectural firms. This experience helps them to secure placement in leading architectural practices in India &abroad.
