Academic Site Visit Report - Commercial Kiosk Design Study

The Department of Architecture, Nehru College of Architecture, organized an academic site visit for B.Arch Semester III students on 30 June 2026 as part of their Commercial Kiosk Design Studio. Guided by faculty members Ar. Sudarshan and Ar. Vrinda R. Unni, 40 students visited Mayannur, Ottapalam and Mercy College Junction, Palakkad to analyze site conditions, accessibility, traffic patterns, and environmental context.
The field study provided valuable practical exposure, enabling students to connect theoretical concepts with real-world architectural planning and design. Through comparative site analysis, students gained insights into user comfort, safety, circulation, visibility, and context-sensitive design, strengthening their understanding for upcoming studio projects.
