ART & CRAFT WORKSHOP

The Art & Craft Workshop at Nehru College of Architecture commenced on 31st October 2025, marking the beginning of a two-day creative engagement for the first-year students. The objective of the workshop was to enhance students’ artistic sensibilities and introduce them to material-based creative exploration.

Day 1 focused on “Hands-on Clay: Jewel Making”, a session designed to help students understand the versatility of clay as a medium of artistic expression. The session began with an introduction to the basic tools, materials, and techniques used in clay jewellery making. Students were guided step by step through the processes of moulding, texturing, detailing, and finishing their own clay ornaments.

The atmosphere throughout the day was energetic and collaborative. Students eagerly experimented with various forms, creating an impressive range of jewellery items such as pendants, earrings, and beads. Faculty members facilitated the session, emphasizing creativity, patience, and precision in craftsmanship.

By the end of the day, the students showcased their handmade creations, reflecting a blend of imagination and skill. The workshop successfully provided a hands-on platform for students to express themselves through design and form, strengthening their understanding of craft as an integral part of architectural learning.

Day 1 concluded on a highly positive note, setting the tone for the next session of the Art & Craft Workshop and leaving students inspired to continue exploring creativity through materials.
