I consider myself fortunate to have completed the B.Arch degree program at the School of Architecture & planning, Chennai for the professional ability fostered by the esteemed institution. The brief work experience with the renowned Ar. Laurie Baker, Trivandrum equipped me with knowledge about materials and cost effective technologies. My post graduation in architecture (M.Arch) at IIT, Kharagpur widened my horizon as architect and propelled me to start independent practice in the city of Madurai in 1986. After completing about 200+ projects in a span of 6 years of which the Parsn housing project of 208 apartments is most notable, I took up the teaching career in 1992 as Assistant professor. Subsequently I joined the Architecture school at SRM University as Professor in 1996. Later I headed the same school in 2003 and was promoted as the Dean in 2009 after we started another architecture school for SRM in Ramapuram campus. I had been instrumental in starting the M.Arch program there in 2006 and also commenced the Bachelor of Design (B.Des) course in Interior design in 2007. Of late I had relocated to Coimbatore before joining the esteemed Nehru College of Architecture as Principal. Nehru College of Architecture is committed to the very important task of producing architecture and architects worthy of the future. Future has always been a part of the architect's prospective task and has preoccupied the minds of architects to push the boundaries of architectural design to create sustainable new worlds. At NCA, the faculty, visiting architects and students cultivate expertise, sensibilities and critical questioning necessary to deliver architecture as a product of urbanity, as an agent of social change, which also integrates the changes in technology.
