Nehru College of Architecture is hosting its first National conference on “Architecture & Sustainability of the Built Environment” broadly aimed to discuss & share the knowledge and design ideas developed in the academics and research domain to the outside world and vice versa.
In times of limited resources and continued evidence of significant climate change, sustainability is increasingly regarded to be of global importance. Sustainable design is a collective process whereby the built environment achieves unprecedented levels of ecological balance through new and retrofit construction, contributing to the long-term viability and humanization of architecture. The conference will address core areas of sustainability such as design, energy & materials in the field of architecture and sustainability in urban design and city planning in the broader spectrum. “Sustainability is a fashion nowadays, But the concept is often used so loosely that many people are unsure of what it really means.”

"An ideal place for experiencing Architectural Education in Kerala”
Nehru College of Architecture strives to equip the next generation of architects with the knowledge and skill set to conceptualize the future of the built environment. The B.Arch. program addresses future concerns in these uncertain times when the world is facing major migrations induced by climate change, natural & manmade disasters, resource depletion, pollution, congestion & overcrowding in urban areas etc. NCA trains architecture students to turn these dire prospects into opportunities by conceiving many types of architectural projects that respond to sustainability of the environment and also reflect the culture & ethos of the local population.
